Requirements for Close Corporation (CC) Restoration Approvals

According to the Treasury Department of South Africa, applications for Close Corporation restorations cannot be processed without the following:

1. A formal notification of request on an official letterhead with a signature affixed to the document
2. The request should include:
  • A postal Address to which the National Treasury can forward correspondence,
  • The date on which the request is being made,
  • The reason/s why your Close Corporation was deregistered,
  • Copy of your Identity Document
  • The Company Registration number or CK number and
  • An Electronic Version of the signed version (Scanned), which should be sent via fax (012)315 5522) or by email to restorations@treasury.gov.za. Please include in the email "Subject Line" - The Name of your Close Corporation and Registration Number
3. Should you not be the owner of the Close Corporation, please indicate in the letter that you have consent to apply on behalf of the owner or owners of the deregistered Close Corporation; Accordingly attach a letter authorizing you to act on behalf of the owners of the deregistered close corporation.
